become so judgmental? It often seems I find many more hard @#$ answers than compassionate answers.
I hate to see the country I love become so dog eat dog.
What ever happened to "judge not lest ye be judged"?

Because some people have become immune to compassion. They have been programmed to be cold uncaring people. You can't give compassion if you don't know what compassion feels like.

It's a break down of values. I blame it on the media, compare the TV shows they air today to that of 20 years ago. The music has also changed over the years.
Things we can do to try to make a change: When possible treat others nicely: “It is not the failure of others to appreciate your abilities that should trouble you, but rather your failure to appreciate theirs.”--Confucius
When possible practice "Random acts of kindness". Maybe over time people will change... But if everyone absolutely stopped trying to be nice to each other the world will never become a better place. When the courtesy is not returned don't let it trouble you. (In today's society, if you don't protect yourself, no one else will.) We do have the power to pick our friends carefully and try to keep civility in our own little worlds... maybe someday the rest of the world will want to join in.

People are not taught to be compassionate or kind anymore. It's all about self nobody seems to think of anyone else anymore.

Neville Chamberlain had the same approach regarding Hitler. It's a good thing Churchill came along and "judged" Hitler correctly.

Compassion is a luxury for the wealthy. The rest of us are just trying to survive... sometimes not very well.
