This has been a old wives tale forever....no such grant in existance to get money from the government to open a business. Anyone who sales there is or they heard of one is hearing gossip. Ask any business professor at any college and he will back it up, no such thing.
All you can do is get a government backed loan through you local chapter of the SBA, Small Business Association. This is a loan like any other loan but has a lower % rate.

it is true. they give out so much money a year for that purpose and some others. in the business, you have to have it going for at least a year to not owe anything. i bought a packet on steps to do this and it tells you the steps. its about 40.00 but worth it!!!

I have heard this to from my older brothr but we couldn find out how to do it. There was alot of paperwork and things to read. We got confused and decided that it was not worth it.

yes - you have to apply for it. and it's not a gift, it's a loan. but you can save taxes.
