People shouldn't care how you dress no matter your race. Your friends should care about you whether you are wearing rags or expensive designer clothes.

Funny thing about white people, when you dress like them they don't notice. Its not unusual for them its ordinary, therefore not noteworthy. Its more likely to be your African-American friends who think you are going over to the other side. I can't imaging why you should care, unless you have been wearing African clothes and feel you are turning away from a cultural heritage. If its just ghetto then you could just be growing up, and into a different part of your life.

Just out of curiousity, why Christmas time? If you are going to change your style why not start now? And why not just do it gradually so it won't be such a dramatic shock to your friends? But no matter why or when you are doing it - be sure that you are doing it for you and what makes you comfortable. It shouldn't matter what others think.

Don't do anything to make yourself comfortable with them. Just dress the way you feel is more comfortable to you. It doesn't matter what they think, it's all about what you think about you. Race should be no factor in making friends or what people think of you. God created us all equal and we all should have the right to attend any event and not be judged by what we wear or our race.

This question is not about your color. It's about your comfort with yourself. It is totally understandable why you might feel this way and it might be an extra challenge for you but we are all human and all have issues of self-acceptance. African Americans are no different. Our hearts and minds are all the same. Learn to love and accept yourself and you can wear pink and purple polka dots and it won't matter.

If you are doing this for yourself why wait until Christmas start now and don't worry what anyone else thinks it is your choice and you are the one who has to love your self no one else does and their might be some one who does love the way you are going to choose to dress so I say go for it if you like it.

Dress in anything you desire..wear whatever you choose and be who you want to be both on the outside and the inside..race/nationality/skin color means nothing to people who like people..Yes people do judge others by what they wear and look like..Too bad isn't it? So my friend it's your money spend it as you please and if those you hang with don't like your clothes then get friends who do..Be smart, Dress smart, Act smart and people will think you are smart and that's half the battle in life..Good Luck to you! PS: Im white...hahahaha!

You must be from/live in the ghetto. I see black adult males dressed very nicely all the time. It's just the kids that are wasting fabric.
