The ANC has set aside R10million in the Budget to pay his Lawyers. Is this hush money to stop him exposing the truth behind the ANC government and the corruption or maybe in exchange for standing down from the Presidency race? Like the AIDS debacle another Mbeki f*ck up.

De Wali - Where on Earth is it normal for an employer to pay for an employee's defence costs? And why the old trick of pointing fingers at others when your concern should be SA? Was Kissinger ever charged with fraud and corruption and rape? And isn't it a fact that the Rape Law in SA is so weak that there are very few convictions. They all get away with it. Cricketers, footballers- you name it and no woman is safe or can expect justice.

Brad - You are right because who can stop him. However, the fears being expressed by SA citizens are in a sense unfounded because the criminals in charge are no better than him. They just manage to keep their trousers on or make sure it doesn't get reported.

Sweet-Angel - I agree with you 100% if there was somebody better to run the Country and who had any chance of being elected. Unfortunately competency doesn't count in the New South Africa. Only "struggle" credentials which is why so many decent and competent South Africans have left and their new home benefits from the skills. And what about the kids who had nothing to do with apartheid?

Waygook - Dont duck under the parapet. South Africans have a lot to be proud of and what they achieved excluding the current state of affairs.

Joyce F - Where do you get that crap that the Government paid for Wouter Basson's defence? He was tried while the Commies were in power and do you think they would contribute anything towards a White man? Another ANC lie you have been suckered into. Like garlic and beetroot or the latest - the crime rates are falling. Ha Ha Ha Hee Hee Hee so why dont they release stats? Not enough time to manipulate them?

Zuma will be your next President.
He is scum, same as Mandela, Mbeki, our old friend Tshabalala-Msimang and the rest of the corrupt savages spending your money as fast as they can.
*addition*
dWali - where in the civilized world is it standard for employer's to pay for the defence of employees, if the employee's crime has nothing to do with the company?
Zuma raped that woman and stole that money not because he's a member of the ANC (mind you, that's becoming increasingly less true), but because he's a sociopathic criminal.
The last employee of the USA that got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Richard Nixon, was shown the door and payed for his misdeeds out of pocket.
*addition*
Ah, Joyce F, the ANC's favorite lapdog makes an appearance. Did you get any table scraps from the ANC today, hon?

No they should not. The trouble is that there is so much corruption in Mbeki's government which goes right to the top, that they need to trade off Zuma's silence with another bribe.. It is very sad as S.A. is a lovely country and the government is failing its citizens. A bit like the U.K. government really?

Once again the criminals in South Africa has more rights than the decent people.
These days it pays to do crime, heck we even pay for their legal fees!
Why must we pay for his legal fees, is the government gonna pay for mine if I land in to some trouble with the law? i don't think so!
If however is bribe money to stand down from the Presidency race well then I am ok with it, because I would not like to see him becoming our next president.

Zuma in my opinion is a DANGEROUS POEPOL that we should get rid of as quick as possible. It is however standard practice for employers to assist with the payment of defence costs for employees.
Look at the MILLIONS of DOLLARS spent to safeguard guys like Kissinger even after he was ousted from office.
It is a sad bu tragic fact of life.
THERE IS NO RAPE LAW IN SA. It falls in common law, so it is EXACTLY the same as other countries with uncodified criminal law systems.
I will not for ONE moment justify the paying of his defence for the rape charges.
The paying of defence cost by your employer for charges laid due to the exercise of your duty is standard (Unless of course your employer charges you).

how can it be right for US to pay that criminals defence fees??? it is SO wrong!! he, in the first place, should be in prison. he is scum. he should be forced to pay every cent out of his own pocket, and if that makes him broke... well then he gets the life of poverty he deserves. maybe its time he starts living the life that the majority of south africa is living in.
