My period was a day late and at first I thought it was going to be a normal period, so I used a tampon and then about 5 hours later I tried to take it out and it was hard to take out because it was only about halfway used! I spotted for the rest of the day and today (the second day of my "period") there is practically NOTHING, just one or two teeny tiny spots on the pantiliner. I took a HPT the day before all this started and it said negative. What's going on??

it could be a number of things.

stress can cause a light period

if u are on birth control and do not take it properly, and sometimes even if you do, spotting can occur instead of a period.

it could also be something even more minor or linked to something more severe.

i would go to a doctor and get it checked out...especially if it happens the next time you have your period.

Babe...stop stressing...I've had that before and it's been nothing. As always, you never know.
If you are sexually active, get a preggie test to see if you're 9 months away from a little one.
The other thing is you can go and see your GP or your gynae.

If this happens regularly, it is known as ammenorreah - which means little or no period.
There is the pill which may help to balance your hormones, and remember, when you're young, your body is forever changing. There are also natural supplements you can take during the month to support your cycle and make you less tense and stressed which will help to regulate when and for how long your periods are.

For now, eat healthily, add some fresh lemon juice - one lemon freshly squeezed into 500mls of water with 1teaspoon of sugar to taste a day during your period at least. Or once a week will do fine. You can drink this throughout the day, like on a Sat or Sun when you are relaxing and like reading a book or watching TV.
Secondly, get enough rest. If your cycle is out - your body may be exhausted and you're carrying on like you're a young monkey in the tropics!

Good luck. I hope this makes sense and helps you. Email me if you have any questions.

It could be too early for a HPT to detect a pregnancy. And it's also probably normal to have a short period. Every woman is different. It's also possible to have a little bleeding even if you are pregnant. Try going to Planned Parenthood or your doctor and having a real pregnancy test. Or wait about 2 weeks and try the HPT again.

I would contact my doctor. When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a light period for two months. Only the blood test showed that she was in there. Always contact your OB/GYN with any questions...but more than likely you are not pregnant.
