They just want to turn away from that fact and have the right not to let a baby screw up their plans. You can argue all you want, but you are not going to change their minds and the truth is that most people really don't care one way or another as long as they are not doing it themselves.

What are lives? Is the cells, and later the fetus really alive? It has no significant cognitive abilities and no ability to survive.
It has potential to become more, a child. But potential is tricky, you cannot kill potential. I might argue that you'd have had potential to create many children during your life, yet you did not.
Abortion, as a procedure, is really unpleasant. No one goes through it unless they have no other choice- will you rob them of that choice? You argued that they should bring the baby to term and then give the child up for adoption- however, having a baby involves significant economical hardship- due to morning sickness, and eventually the weight gain and other physical aspects; work suffers.
Protection, while a good idea is not the first thing you come to think of. Quite often your mind is clouded (well- it should be!) with emotions sometimes much more potent than being drunk. You are not allowed to drive when you are drunk, but you still have to make what could be the most significant decision in your life? I don't like it. The morning after pill is the first choice, yet sometimes partners have deluded themselves that they were having safe sex- or maybe the condom broke without them noticing, and they have to abort.

no, we don't believe what you believe!.
and we don't believe you can dictate religious or other beliefs to others. Hitler believed that, though so you are in famous company.
in the biblical writings it says the soul will be given from the hall of souls at the moment of birth ..and when that is empty we a re all in trouble. so your idea...it isn't of god or biblical thought.
medicine/science has several a different opinions of when life begins
religious right doesn't believe in freedom of thought or choice.
you live by man made rules that ensure more future church goers..
of course abortion is not a responsible or reasonable substitute for birth control and self control. its an emergency measure.
and of course at a certain point science shows there is a separate sentient life. that would be murder unless its life or death for the mother then its still a personal and medical choice not for one politician and or one religion to decide.
and you cant see reason for acceptance and options and choices because you have been well and thoroughly trained in the black and white and the rigid. Sentient but no open sapience is not spiritual!

Heres the problem with this debate. Anti abortion activists, are fighting for life.. seeing that these group of cells WILL turn into a human being. Thats fine it will. In essencse you are protecting a life that will come to be... But us pro abortion people.. don't see a person there yet, and want to protect our right to choose if we want to allow those groups of cells to turn into a person. This agrument will never get settled... Personally, I know people who have had kids, and those kids have turned out horrible. Some people just arent meant to be parents. If people want kids, and are willing to raise them.. GREAT!!, but if they don't there is a better chance that the kid will grow up and be troubed.
Either way.. we have to just respect each others opinions no matter what they are, and just listen. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree.

You only cover one reason that is used to rationalize abortions.
I do not support females that use abortion as a form of birth control. However if a woman is a rape victim, especially if it was extremely brutal, I am 100% behind the woman to get an abortion, if that's what she chooses. I also believe that a woman who is pregnant and may die from that pregnancy or complications should be able to choose to abort. BUT-I also believe they should decide ASAP.

I am confidently Pro-Choice. I personally do not totally agree with abortion. But, I feel very strongly that my government full of men that I do not know, should NOT be able to tell me, or any woman for that matter, what I can and cannot do with my body. I agree with you on the fact that people should use protection if they are not ready for children, but there are exceptions to every rule, please keep that in mind. Like I said, myself personally would not get an abortion. But, my government cannot tell me what to do with MY body. Have a great day!

I think that many of you pro lifers are mistaken, most of us that would permit abortions do not support it. We just feel that the government should have as little to say about our private lives as possible. If you make it illegal you won't stop it from happening, girls will still get abortions, the difference is it will be done in back alleys and sleazy motels, many girls will die from infection, or bleeding to death. Before Roe V. Wade that is exactly what happened. The best chance for the pro-life movement to work is though education. Sex education starting at an early age and the ramifications of unprotected sex.

I have always been pro-choice, but I definitely think abortion is completely out of control. Frankly, I'd rather someone had an abortion than bring a drug-addicted baby into the world, but I also think that people who use it as birth control should be spayed, just like a dog. At just one Planned Parenthood clinic in NYC, they perform over SIXTY THOUSAND abortions a year. How sad.

People who support abortions because they feel the government should stay out of the woman's life, as far as her right to choose is concerned. And the same should go for the Christian Conservatives as well. They all need to leave that alone!

I'll tell you what, the day that birth control is common and not denounced by scumbags like the pope; the day that the schools encourage birth control; the day that politicians lose interest in what women do with their bodies, that is the day that abortion should be illegal.
Abortion was around long before it was legal, and I am talking thousands of years old, and it will be around long after politician scumbags and freaky popes are gone.
I'm a fence-rider on abortion, but if something is illegal, it becomes more common...like prohibition.
Next time use spell-check so you don't sound like such an ignorant hick.

I believe that a fetus is a human being, with a soul, and that abortion is murder. But, I also believe that its not my place to shove my beliefs on someone else or to tell them what to do with their lives/bodies. I would say that I am "pro choice" and that my choice is to be "pro life". I believe there are very legitimate reasons for some abortions, and never being in those positions, I can't say that I would choose to have the baby if I were in a similar situation. Imagine being pregnant after a violent rape. Could you accept and love that child who was a reminder of the horrible experience you had? Also, what if there were problems in the pregnancy and the doctor said it was you or the baby. Would you sacrifice yourself for the baby? And if you did, would you in essence be committing suicide, which is as great of a sin (to some)? Just some rambling opinions here. Everyone will have their own, and who is anyone to say that any are wrong.
