It makes no difference how you vote, mostly cause your vote does NOT count never has & never will until the secretcy is taken out & a legitimate form of verification is utilized from the point of ballot cast too reported numeric results! Yes the draft is coming very soon!

They have no plans to restart the draft. First of all they have more volunteers than they can use and the way that wars are fought now, they need the best and brightest and not someone who is dragged in by their collar.

The only people even talking about the draft is those who oppose the war and know that the meer discussion ignites a fear in the young and college student population that translates into Democrat votes. That manipulation has been successful in the past, so expect it to continue.

Actually, I am surprised that it has not been re-instated.

I really feel sorry for our troops, having to serve not one, not two but three or more tours over there.
And the poor National Guard people...they've been uprooted from their lives and are ill-prepared to take on such monumental life-and-death tasks.

I look at these issues and wonder why our illustrious Secretary of Defense is allowing this kind of strain and stress on our fighting forces.
These troops are human, they will reach a breaking point.
He is being an arrogant, selfish and heartless boob for so many reasons, but most of all, for placing them in harms way with no hope of fresh replacements.

Bring them on... They'll have a hard time taking my sons from me.

But, with all the Republican party has degraded, I just don't think they'll be able to reinstate the draft. It takes an act of Congress for that, and Republicans don't have the support of the majority on war issues

"i hope not that's all the U.S. army needs is a bunch of metro-sexual,sissy,whining little liberal girls,to destroy a fantastic army! " An army of fags conquered the old world under Alexander the Great. NOBODY else in history matched them

I don't expect to see it. With the military the US now has, theySHOULD be able to easily handle any crisis. It would appear that a small, ill equipped nation like Iraq has them this frustrated, so I can't see them going to war against a power such as China. And as long as it does not evolve into a World War, it would be too embarressing and the peopl e wold object. If it does evolve int WW 3, don't worry about it, just imagine yourself on the Titanic & how you thought it so much fun to skip swimming class.and then repeat after me," Our Father , who art in heaven, or something apropo.

It is unbelievable, when you see the money that is being spent on "Space issues" , that you military is so under equipped as "Rabid" pointed out. If in the coming elections, something isn't done to stop Bush & his neo cons. I'm afraid , only those who can proove they voted against the Rep. will be allowed in Canada, we have enough dummies here now.

fat probability of that taking position. the form of enormous volume of people are signing up now that bonuses aren't to any extent further as widely used as they were till now so draft being reinstated is a lengthy shot. that's likewise perplexing for someone who develop into discharged honorably to get reinstated because the protection stress is getting the form of enormous volume of recruits in.

They can barely muster enough troops to send to the field now. Look at all the units pulling OVERTIME. Our army is also under equipped and many of them argued with Rumsfeld over this when he went over seas (no surprise, he had no answers.).

If the Bush admin has any notion of self-preservation left, they wont' institute the draft. But if the current situation continues and recruitment quotas remain low, then they'll have to in order to keep our armies full.

My answer: YES. Move to canada.

That will never happen, it would have to go thought Congress, and it just will never be, so all you Mothers (myself included) do not worry about that, but our children still have to sign up for the draft when they are 18, that is all just standard procedure.

Not gonna happen. Whether Bush, Hillary, Kerry or anyone else who makes those decisions, the US involvement is going to wind down one way or another. Washington is getting wise, albeit very slowly.
