To avoid lawsuits. Nobody want's to be known as a fashion "don't", and some will sue for slander, or harassment, or even pain and suffering. I figure if you are in the public eye, and that is your career choice, you will be judged. Your fans make and break you, and if you go out in something that may be questionable or strange, you better be prepared. I love it when celebs say "I just want to be left alone" no they don't otherwise they would be working in a cubicle. They chose that job and they have to take the good with the bad.

I can tell you from personal experience, I have never gone on stage wearing or doing something I was not comfortable with, regardless. I have walked off many a stage when I refused to wear a particular costume, or perform a particular piece of music or bit of a scene. I was not about to degrade myself, or set a bad example to my younger counterparts.

I live by this, and have yet to get a bad review.

I worked for a magazine publisher for a while.. it's to avoid lawsuits.

Btw, I don't agree... covering the eyes makes it much harder to recognize a person. Why do you think celebrities wear those dark sunglasses?

the whole process is just so wrong, to judge someone, photograph them w. out their knowledge, and then put them in a magazine bashing their outfits with nothing but a stupid black bar to cover their eyes. the least they could do is bleep out the whole face like you said.

I dont think they care about being able to recognize the person in the picture. They just don't want to be sued

They do this because I guess you can notice their eyes,And also, who would wawnt to be a fashion don't (that's probabley why they block out the eyes).

I've acctualy never seen that done...but yeah, i agree. probably lawsuits from both the individual and the clothing line (though that wouldn;t really solve that problem..)

I hate it when Glamour does that for celebrity "fashion-don'ts" cuz I know who that celebrity is and so does everybody else.

I think its supposed to be like "fasion crime", in other words it really doesn't matter. It's just an affect.
Hope this helps
