groups.......My daughters school is having a school "function" tonight with games and stuff but when I asked if she should dress in a costume they said "no, because its not allowed to be a halloween party because it would offend some peoples religions", but, thankfully they still have the pledge of allegience with under god still in it....when did halloween become offensive?

That has been creeping in over the past few years. Halloween is devil worship, Christmas excludes other religions, Easter is a sectarian holiday, Columbus day is racist towards native Americans.

If you wonder what is wrong with our education system, all you have to do is to understand that the people running the schools are all graduates of a college system run by nuts.

since they banned cup cakes for birthday's, It is so sad,, And I will tell you ....they are banning the PLEDGE .... I cannot imagine WHAT religion is bothered by HAlloween??? I am sooo tired of all this banning of things because it offends someone.. I think that some of this is crap.... I almost think its an excuse so that the school doesnt have to let the kids do it. MOst public schools forbid dressing up ... Did you know in fla third graders dont get recess. But untill we do something .. the kids are going to be able to do less and less.,and the pledge of allegence is going to be a memory of the past. along with all the holiday partys... I think that is really bad. ( I have three kids 12, 9 , and 1 .. so I am going on expirence... I want the kids to have partys. i am also a room mother each year to both of my sons in school... SO ....I do what I can to have the parties.. they are only kids ONE time... But these fun things are going to be taken away.. because of offending some one.. even the pledge.

This is the conservative religious right at work...Falwell and his ilk (who have W. in their pocket) are the ones who want this sort of thing.
And, "Only P"--how on earth is this "anti-religion?" Halloween isn't a religious holiday!!! The reason given for no "Halloween" was so that religions wouldn't be offended! You guys will blame ANYTHING on the Dems, won't you? No matter how lacking in logic and common sense!

"Religious" people have nothing to do with the banning of these parties.... Give me a break.. Some nut case probably said something and it turned out that particular person brought up religion up.. My church has "trunker treat" and games in the church for any kids who want to come... Even ghouls show up... You want to know why all these parties are being renamed or canceled, Check out the ACLU....

It is not just religious people. a lot of people believe differently. (I know it makes me upset as well) but is it really worth the anger. Your child still gets to play and have fun. We still take them trick-or-treating and everyone is happy. The children of the parents that don't believe in Halloween would have to be left out and that isn't really fair either. This is best for everyone. Look ahead for Fall Festivals, Winter parties and spring fun!!

that is so dumb i mean some people are geting so weird thease days, i would just dress up any way who cares who you offend, and as for the "in God" in the pledge of aligence, that should never be taken away, this world was made from God and it would be crazy not to praise and worship him for it.

It must be the Christian Right-They LIKE the Pledge of Alligiance though, so that's safe for now.
