My 2 month old has been crying most of the day, and most of last night.I have given her the"Little Tummys" gas releif med to no avail..I have tried to do the dryer thing, to soothe her with the sound. Her swing has the nature sounds and water sounds, but it has had no effect either.I have tried to bounce her, pat and rub her back, what seems like everything and nothing seems to work.Does anyone think this sounds like colic, and if so, do you have any suggestions as to what may help?
Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated!

Yeah it sure does sound like colic, and my baby seems to have a touch of it herself..last night i had to wrap her up in a big blanket and rock her and keep things very quiet and keep giving her the soother she kept spitting out for a bout fifteen minutes until she was calm enough to lie on the bed beside me.

Some other things that work for me is sitting down and holding her in my lap with her back against my chest and my arms around her belly and rocking back and forth and that works for about ten minutes at a time.

Bathing and then wrapping her up nice and warm and giving her a soother sometimes works.

Bicyling her legs sometimes works.

Putting her on her stomatch and letting her fuss for a few minutes and then picking her up sometimes works.

Driving in the car.

Pushing her in her buggy.

burping her and chaning postions often sometimes works cause it gets the extra gas out of her belly.

saying shhh and talking to her and singing to her as i rock her sometimes works as well...

It could be colic...for my children's colic I got some fresh mint leaves ( you can even buy them at the grocery store now ) and boiled a few in a pot of water. Let it boil till the water changes color. After that let it cool down till it is like luke warm temp. Put it in a little bottle add the tea and a small amt. of sugar. Give the baby the mint tea, by the time the baby realizes he/she doesn't like it the baby has gotten enough of it. Believe me it works. I have used it on all three of my kids and my nieces. It has helped with their colic so much...it even worked better than the store bought anything. Good luck to you. If it continues then I would call the doctor, you don't want something to drag out for days. Hope the baby feels better soon :)

she probably has gas, try doing bicycle legs on her to release it or try putting a tip of a thermometer with some vaseline in her anus and twirling it a little, for a about a minute while holding her legs up as if youare changing her diaper. She might poop right there or let some gas out.
It sounds like colic, but there is nothing much you can do accept give her gas med or helping her release the gas by doing what I said or other techniques people might suggest.
Also the five S's help : Swaddle, Shush (shush in her ear), Side (put her on her side in your arms), Swing (swing her in your arms) and Suck (pacifier).
Also try a vacuum cleaner not a drier, the vibration from the vacuum might help in addition to the sound.

ok it is clear everyone here is not very bright, first NEVER give a baby honey!!!!!Or baking soda !!!or pop!!!
really people it is a baby not a science experiment!!!!
colic is describe by doctors as crying for more then 3 hours a day more then 3 days a week for more then 3 weeks.
Your baby could just be going threw a growth spur and is in a little pain.
Dont try anything dramatic,if it continues call your doctor otherwise the rocking and belly rubbing are good ideas
good luck :)

It could be colic, but it could also be because she is tired... If she is crying all day, and you are trying to wind her rather than soothe her to sleep, she may be literally crying out for sleep (lots of babies are not very good at falling asleep). It might take a couple of sleeps for an overtired baby to settle down.

If it is colic/gas, most meds have a cumulative effect, keep on with it.

Might be colic. ls she pulling her knees up to her chest? That's a sign of colic. Sometimes colicy babies like pressure on their tummy. Try laying her over your thigh or your forearm. It could also be something else...like an ear infection. That will make them hurt and cry a lot.

Someone above suggested honey in tea. DO NOT give honey to a baby under a year. It contains bacteria that can be life threatening to their undeveloped digestive system.

Hi. I would suggest that you take her to the doc as even if it had been colic, it is too long now.

Sometimes young children tend to get ear infections and then cry a lot.

Also try giving her lukewarm nursery water (around .5 - 1 ounce).
That usually takes care of any gas / obstruction in the tummy.

I hope she is feeding properly.

But whatever u do, consult a doc

Most likely. My son had colic, and it drove me crazy! He cried for at least 8 hours a day. Try massaging her tummy in a nice warm bath. It will help her loosen up her hurting tummy. Then, when you've dressed her, lay her flat, and massage her tummy while you pull her legs into her chest. This may help her to release some of the gas. You can also try a vibrating bouncy chair. The vibrations will also help the gassiness. Sometimes tummy mint tea with a TINY bit of honey works too. Good luck, and stay patient! It's a rough thing to deal with, but if her crying gets to you, just leave the room for a few minutes to breath. It can be overwhelming sometimes. Hope this helps!

my 4 month old has colic and she only screams about 2 hours about 3 nights and her doc says that might help with colic babies. is that some babies like white walls and then some like active walls. but my daughter doesn't like that so what i do to calm her down is turn off all the lights and turn on the tv and she likes the bright lights or go for a car ride...

it could be, the best thing to do is to call your babies doctor. if it is colic my aunt had a colic baby and it helped when she put the baby in the swing with it rocking on low or high (depending on the baby) and let her sit in there for a little bit and then the baby would calm down. the doctor told her that as long as the baby is happy and calm not to feel guilty about having her in there. he said at least she is happy and calm. just don't leave her in there ALL day, you know
