I graduated from college a couple of years ago with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and I hate my job and don't want work anymore. I think I would rather sleep all day and do nothing.
P.S. I don't have kids or anything like that so this is only going to effect me.

FIND SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO DO (besides sleeping)! We ALL have to do something we don't like doing at some point in our lives while we are setting goals for something BETTER! Try using your SPARE time to find out what it is that you LOVE. Then, while you still have an income, start making the move towards that other thing. Surfers in Hawaii usually spend all day surfing, but they work tending bars or being waiters at night. Undiscovered actors do the same thing (work and go for their dream). It sounds like you need another GOAL. Here are some examples: Become an entrepreneur. Get a pilot's license. Learn to scuba dive. Meet 20 new people every weekend until you find 'her'. Get a different degree going to night school. Become a teacher. Raise $10,000 for a charity. Etc. Get excited about something besides focusing on your boredom and become a better person in the meantime!

Do you know what it is like to be homeless??!! I do!! I was homeless for 2 years. I wasn't lazy or an addict I was just tired of my job quit. Turns out I was depressed. Get some help. Living on the street is not great. Its actually harder then working. You think living on the street is about sleeping all day your wrong!!!!!!! It about worrying who will try to steal your stuff where you will sleep to stay out of the police view. What you will eat, how to keep warm, the stares you get from all the other people walking by, and a million other things that I don't even want to imagine. So my advice..... buck up, kick your butt to go to work and find another job. If you don't believe try it for a week. Just leave your house and bring no money or credit cards and try to survive. Please don't choose to be homeless.

M M ,
You are at a point that many grads find them selves after a few years in the work field.
The hype you bought into a school ain't all that.
Suggestion - keep your job for now.
Do you hate the job or the field?
visit DaveRamsey.com to get some money sense.
Visit your library or buy -' What colour is your parachute' and '48 days to work you love'.
Read digest understand act on the info you find about you. Changing course in life is not easy
but the street is hard and will stay with you for rest of your life. It is like saying iwant to be a junkie cause my job s,uc, s.

You may want to look at the other options that are out there..Like to work at home. If you own a computer have a cable modem, phone you are good to go. You could be a CSR from home, taking calls from the infomercials. And this would cost you nothing to start.

Why on earth would you want to do that? I have lived on the streets granted it was for only a few months but that was the worse few months of my life. If you hate your job then go find one that you do like. But living on the streets is not fun at all.

Just go ahead to be a homeless person on your day off. then you will find out you are really want to be or not? you can try it two or more days without taking a bath and sleep on the street without the A/C or Heat.

it still would not just be you that it effects. you would be a burden on the food banks and the shelters in the winter. you would be taking benefits from someone who may not be able to earn the money you are capable of. enjoy your life and realize how lucky you are.
