How many different feilds? Example of a broadcaster.

Before teaching, I was in broadcasting for 10 years. Long and odd hours. You don't usually get to start at a network, your work at a local station and the work is your paycheck is not going to be that big. (Unless you live in an area with a strong union.) Lots of little perks...I got to interview Oprah, and go to a lot on free concerts and sporting events. I was in news, I still miss the adrenalin rush when there is big news happening.

It's a very tough field to break into without connections. Charlie Gibson (former host Good Morning America, mentioned that he got his job a daughter a job at the Food Network. It's an area where you have to have strong industry connections If you have college sorority sisters with VIP parents, play that card! Don't be afraid to ask friends for help.

different fields are basically TV or Radio. All kinds of jobs, from on-air talent to many different dehind the scenes jobs, production, etc. Pro's - can be a lot of fun, challenging. Con's - hard to get the jobs, most don't pay that much until you've made a name for yourself, especially the on-air jobs.
