No. Not since I saw prisoner photos and Abu Ghraib. Not since Bush wouldn't tell anyone, even the red cross, where the "detainees" were being held and had a hard time understanding the wording of the Geneva convention. "Assaults against human dignity" is vague? What the hell!?

Also, Bush has stated that his office is above the law. He's smug and proud that his approval rating is in the toilet...covered in crap. He doesn't even read the polls! ASSHEAD!

I''m not proud to live in a place where ANY MAN is above the law for any reason. Even a president. I'm not proud to because we torture and brutalize other people because we live in fear.

More victims have been found at ground-zero at the WTC. It's like they are calling from the dead to remind us of the day they died, and the freedoms they died for. That's the Ghost of America haunting us.

I'm not proud to live here anymore. I'm actually planning on moving north.

I am proud to be an american, even if something doesn't go my way. That is the issue now, people think that as soon as one thing doesn't go the way they like it, or that one person disagrees or has a different opinion than them, they need to rant, rave, attck the person, or worse. The joy of America, is everyone is allowed those opinions, and to say that you arn't. Well then move!! All the people who have died, the familes destroyed and children and spouses left alone. Not just in Iraq, but in every war, you are saying that their (and their families) sacrifices were pointless, and if you believe that then you don't deserve to call yourself an American. This is speaking in general terms, not to you or any other paticular person.

Yes frogspeaceflower is very proud to be an American! We have it better than any country in the world. You can't please everyone all the time in a democratic society. So I understand that there is some dissent......The peace and welfare of this and coming generations of Americans will be secure only as we cling to the watchword of true patriotism: "Our country -- when right to be kept right; when wrong to be put right." a quote by Carl Schurz. Do not despair, we are getting better everyday.

Absolutely.

Why wouldn't you be proud to be from the best country on Earth? Sure, it has its flaws (what country doesn't?) but overall, it is clearly the best place to live (why else would MILLIONS of people clamor to get here every year?).

Anyone who isn't proud to be an American is more than welcome to leave!!
