I actually have a questionaire, don't want to post a bunch of individual questions that may not apply to alot of people. If anyone wants to message me who is in midieval reenactment/re-creation I can send them the full list.
Otherwise: Why do people do reenactment/re-creation?

I am in the SCA (society for creative anacranism) I do it because it is fun and nice to get away from the norm and be someone else for a couple of hours every week. Plus the parties and battles are off the hook!!!!

First, learn how to spell medieval before you finish your paper, we medievalist get easily upset when we find that word misspelled.

Second, it is a hobby and has little to do with the reality of the medieval times. The group, SCA, just is having fun. I don't know what they do with the money earned, but they draw a crowd and that is about it. The paper just as soon be about why some people go to flea markets every weekend.

Because they have empty, sad lives with trouble living today, and think war is glamourous. Why do they never re-enact the Bubonic Plague? I have a vial in my fridge that could help them, if they want the real enactment!
Mind you, women were wenches, had no opinions and no status in the past, so I might become converted to the idea!
