I have no problems surfing the internet or anything like that. When I go to Yahoo games and try to play pool, cards, and literati (games against others online) it brings me to an error 999 screen telling me that something is wrong with my computer and that I need to contact my ISP or do a virus check. I just did the virus scan, defraged it, and did the disk clean up on it. This morning it did this to me so I reset all of the information on the internet and it still does it. So I talked with my ISP to see if the problem was on their end and they said everthing was fine and that there was no unusual activity going on. My mom can log onto her yahoo account from this computer, so I know it's not on my end. What do I do? Serious answers only please. Thank your for any advice you can give me.

Error 999 is usually that your computer has tried to connect to their site too many times in an amount of time.
Breathe and wait for the pages to load!
Maybe use a proxy for a few days...

If it seem like everything's just too slow on the net... ditch Internet Explorer and try Firefox - I find Firefox to be about 3x faster than IE. It's also a lot more secure.

There's a huge, long list of why Firefox is awesome, I'll spare you most of it, but here are my highlights - it's free, fast, blocks pop-ups, copies over your settings from IE (bookmarks, cookies), and very customizable (2 addons and you'll never see another banner / flash / iframe ad again).

Hope this helps,
