Bush saying clearly, "Weve never been stay the course"?

or

the rest of the Republican administration running round desperately trying to spin that phrase as not being a blatant lie

It's sooooooooooo pathetic. WTF has America become, when people will try to defend that complete moron in the whitehouse?

So which is more embarrasing out of those two, and why?

What I find embarrassing is that the idiot got re-elected in America. He is a disgrace to our way of life.

As for the neo clowns that defend him they are beyond embarrassment. They are just plain disgraceful to the nation.

How long will it take to repair the damage they've done and pay the bills they've run?

I think defending is actually more embarrassing, because to be embarrassed, you'd need to feel a sense of shame or responsibility, and I doubt that Bush has that.

Well the only embarassment is going to be seen after the elections. We will see whom you are going to vote for.

both - they've had a lot of practise at covering up for lame presidents. Kennedy and Clinton (not too mention the actor that went senile)
