I would like to listen to some opera broadcast when I have time, so I would like to save or tape them for later listening

Download Audacity (free) and record your soundcard's output to your hard disk.

OR

Connect your soundcard's line-out to your tape-deck's line-in.

Unless you really want to save the output to CD, there is no reason to waste the media.
