what is the best way i can get scholarships and finacial aif or grants for college?

im tryna get into a private university and i need grants and financial aid and also scholarships as well. but one problem is my mom is incarerated and i cant complete my fafsa how can i do this. its really stressing me out kinda. any help or places where i can get the types of funds ?

Apply for as many scholarships as you can =) Make sure to maintain a good G.P.A., be involved in extracurricular activities, and volunteer... (you'll impress the scholarship committee) If this is your senior year, join a club or volunteer... Ask your counselor for info. scholarships (schools/counselors should have a list of scholarships that are available) Try using www.fastweb.com it's a really good site to search for scholarships (I use it myself) all you have to do is register and they'll select scholarships that suit you best. And most important of all, don't forget about deadlines of scholarships and don't procrastinate!!! It's not to late to start your scholarship search. Some universities offer scholarships also. Check with the university you want to get in, if they offer scholarships.

On your fafsa, you should speak with your counselor. I think your legal guardian is supposed to add you as a dependent on the income tax and through that you can submit your fafsa application.
