What is the difference between emo and goth? I would like to know everybodys opinion. I think that emo's are cheap pozer versions of goth. I think emo's are people that PRETEND to be " depressed" and sad. But there are tons of people on this world that KNOW life is depressing but they don't whine all the time. Some people tend to mix goth with emo. But in truth goth is different. Goth's are real, goths are ver dark and write poetry and do art and such while emo's TRY to write just to make people think they are depressed. Goth's are misfits but have friends and don't cry all the time to get attention. What is YOUR opinion.

Most people who are interested in the respective subcultures have gathered that emo is a completely different animal. And why generalize like that: "All goths are THIS way, and all emos are THAT way!" It makes you sound as judgemental and juvenile as the people who normally bash goths and emos. Lay off.

No, by way of fact neither are genetic. toddlers do no longer continually finally end up like their mom and dad in each way. some goths have toddlers that are greater into the mainstream, on an identical time as lots of mainstream, conservative mom and dad have toddlers who perceive with the goth or emo subcultures.

The truth is that they are actually different species of the same animal: the whiny loser.
Emos tend to be more solitary but sometimes gather in group crying sessions, goths tend to lurk about in herds but are sometimes seen laming around on their own.
Emos are weepy and depressed, goths are angry and depressed.
Emos think they are unique but this is only because most of them are stuck in their rooms crying into their pillows, goths claim to be unique but secretly want to be socially involved with other goths because they have grandiose (and ridiculous) dreams of rising up against the people who opress them.
Both are just as idiotic and useless as every other clique. Well, emos are not entirely useless as they make good punching bags. Goths not so much, you get pastyface makeup smeared all over your fists :(

Why do you feel the need to classify anyone? Everyone deals with their emotions differently. Who are you to say anyone is a "poser" What is a poser to you anyway, someone who isn't you? You don't know what these people have been through. Everyone's pain is unique to themselves. You have no right to judge or try to put anyone in a social class. Get a life.

Emo is people who are depressed with life. They slit their wirsts.
Goths just like black and vampires and horror stuff.
Not completely accurate though I am neither of those I'm normal. The most accurate answer would be from an emo person or goth.

Emo are always depressed and think of cutting them self always. Goth are more like rockers except a Little more cooler and weir.

i have friends that are emo and in my opinion they are more open with their emotions than goths......emo ppl(or at least the ones i know) are VERY emotional about everything and are extremely sensitive!

i agree with you. my daughter is an emo. she has nothing to be depressed about but always seems to carry a "woe is me" attitude. go figure.
