Democrats traditionally care about people and the things that make a community strong. Democrats focus on adequate funding for schools, health care, transportation and jobs for people. Take education. The University system in California, one of the best in the world, was built by a Democratic governor.
Take roads. The freeway system that is basically free to drive on was spearheaded by Democrats. The toll roads on the other hand were pushed through by Republicans. See the distinction?
Republicans are for a private corporate army and right now is funding Corporations to fight in Iraq. The Republican dominated Congress has allowed the Corporations to drain our government's money to pay the Corporations excessive amounts of money for their services. For example, $90 per bag of laundry is just the tip of the iceberg. They freely blow up $100,000. trucks if they get a flat tire because they figure the government will buy them a new one so why bother. Democrats believe a strong military run by the military is the way to go. It would be more cost-efficient and more patriotic. Thank you. Democrats want to see the money we are spending on the war in Iraq used here at home to fight crime, build hospitals, do research to cure cancer, and improve our educational system.

Hey now, folks.
Instead of degrading the party that stands on the opposite side of your beliefs with information that you've been spoon fed by your parents, friends, and the media, why don't you go educate yourself? You can't form an opinion on something unless you completely know what it entails. I don't see that here. Quit being the stereotypical "lazy American" and go learn something. That's the whole problem with this country. People argue over things they know nothing about.
Republicans are typically considered to be Conservative, and Democrats are considered to be Liberal. Of course, there are those in between, radicals on each end, and different parties that are somewhat obscure.
In simple terms, there are good people and bad people in each party. As an American, it's our job to research and find out what each issue is about and where we stand. Then, we need to find out which politicians believe the way we do, if any, and then support them. There are usually two sides to everything, and each one is associated with the majority of the Democratic Party and the majority of the Republican Party. However, there is ALWAYS grey area and therefore not all Democrats share the same views as their peers and likewise with Republicans. That is why it is important to find out what each separate politician believes because they may not share the same views as the rest of the party. Some people claim to be a member of one party to get support when they really share beliefs with the other.
Politics can be confusing, but for God's sake, people.
LEARN SOMETHING before you go boasting.

One is an idiot and the other is a moron. Or is it the other way around?
Seriously, they are members of differing political parties that have theoretically conflicting views of how the country should be run. I say theoretically different because in reality there is no difference at all. Both are wrong but neither will admit it.
Despite what you read here, neither party stands for the 'little guy,' i.e., the private citizen. They only stand for power -- their own.

They all work for the big money corporations who pay them through the lobbyists. They should be working for the people (our country). The Republicans are what the Democrats used to be, while the Democrats have a mental disorder, seems like.

Well Republicans stand up for those people that have money...large corporations, etc. They do not care about the lower class individuals and their needs.
Democrats are more for the people in need. Everything Democrats do is to help us and not those white collar criminals.
Hope it helps.

Republicans are the distillation of all that is good, right, and just. Democrats are the personification of Evil whose only goal is to gain power over everyone forevermore.
Unless you're a democrat, in which case switch the above.

It really isn't important what a politician believes in, it is what he/she does with that belief.
The importance of D vs R for legislators is who gets to control the committees that serve as gatekeepers to laws/appointments even being voted on.
The importance of D vs R for the president is who gets to veto laws.
The importance of D vs R for judges is who gets to usurp power from the other branches.

Democrats are gay, kill babies, and let murderers and rapists run free.
They like decrease spending on the military, which means the men and women who fight for your freedom in this country suffer.
They are for increasing the size of governments control on the people.
They are for gun control, which means having less self defense, taking away our right to bear arms.
They want to increase taxes and probably worship Satan.
