There have been several:

Revolutionary War (although arguably not "America" then)
War of 1812
Texas Revolution (in 1836 with the Alamo, although not a state til 1845)
Civil War
WW2--Pearl Harbor, although Hawaii was not officially a state then either
War on Terror - 9/11/2001 World Trade Center, and other terrorist attacks

If you mean in the Continental US, it was the Mexican American war when Pancho Villa attacked Columbus, New Mexico. It was the first invasion of the US since the Revolutionary War. WWII and Pearl Harbor is sorta if-y cause Hawaii wasn't a state yet. But your question did say 'territory'...

There were several. The War of 1812, Pearl Harbor, Fort Sumter which precipitated the Civil War, and those are what I recall. A fine tooth comb requres dilligent research for smaller incidents amounting to so called police actions which, to my mind nonetheless, are really wars with the loss of American soldiers irrespective of scope.

To clarify...state or territory... If this is a trick question...just war of 1812. Cause hawaii was not a state at the time of pearl harbor.
