I personally don't have any children but work with children at my church. One of the girls said something about not celebrating halloween. I know this is common among Christians and just wonder why and if you let your children go trick or treating? My mother always let us go when we were little and it didn't change my faith at all.

Of course not! Halloween is just a fun time for kids to get dressed up and have some fun. It has nothing to do with religion anymore, and should just be something to look forward to as a kid (and even an adult!).

I don't think Christians have anything against Halloween... I know some religions state the Halloween is the 'Day Of The Devil' Maybe she can't afford a costume or doesn't like trick-or-treating.

Halloween is just a fun night for children to act like children , and big children to play too.

I'm married but we don't have kids - if we did, I'm not sure about trick or treating. I'm not religious but I don't like the idea of little kids going door to door - I didn't enjoy it as a kid and only went a couple times (my mom made me go). Our local zoo puts on a zoo "boo" and I would be more inclined to take them there.

When I worked w/kids at church, the fun was to create a costume you would find in the Bible. Door's wide open for all sorts of explanations. Fun!!
