As it stands now, my wireless connection gets disconnected whenever someone calls! Talk about frustrating!! Timewarner told me to "change the frequency" on my cordless phone, but I don't see a way to do that (it's a $30 phone, maybe the more expensive ones have that option, I don't know!), but when I disconnect the cordless phone and just have landline phones on, everything works fine. Can't get rid of the cordless, though, because there isn't a phone outlet in the living room!!

This is my second router, so I'm thinking the phone is the problem!

Any ideas??

Unfortunately, the other answers are correct that you'll need to replace the phone. But rather than buying an older cheaper 900MHz cordless phone, go with a modern one and get a 5.8GHz phone. Your wireless router works in the 2.4GHz band, this is the same band used by many popular cordless phones as well as microwave ovens and bluetooth devices. I have used both the AT&T 5.8GHz phones and Panasonic Gigarange 5.8GHz phones.

Any cordless phone with the capability of changing the channel of will work, you just have to do a channel search with the phone to find a frequency that doesn't interfere with your router

Probably time for a new phone. Mine uses a frequency of 2.4 ghz and sits about 2 1/2 feet from my router with no problems. My other one uses 900 mhz and that one sits in the cellar a long distance from my router.

Belkin, Linksys, and D-link are all the two common to setup and use and function good shopper service in case you run into issues. i might stay removed from Netgear on your issue. I certainly have tried to setup 3 distinctive Netgear prompt routers with the Motorola Surfboard 5100, and not one might artwork, and then their shopper service became nil. So see which of the 1st 3 is your ultimate cost element once you get to the save and flow with that.

AT&T and BellSouth both have a really comprehensive line of phones. Check with a store clerk/manager who is knowledgeable about phones. You can get additional information from "Consumer Reports."
