Okay So here I am 39 weeks and due on monday. I want to know how many of you moms waited the full 6 weeks before having sex? Personally I know Im not gonna want it a little bit after the baby but a full 6 weeks? That is gonna be very tough. Not to mention for me but my husband as well. If you didnt wait, did you regret it and would you wait next time? and if you did wait, seriously was it hard for you? I know there's other things but its not the real thing..that is..lol. Anyway, just wanted to know how many of you actually waited the full 6 weeks?

i havent been through this personally because i am not a mommy yet, but my sister just recently had a baby and she pretty much waited because of all the pain she was in afterward. Before the baby she said she didnt know how she was going to be able to wait that long, but afterwards she said it was the last thing on her mind. She said it even hurt to wipe so she couldnt imagine how it would feel to have sex. Needless to say, she waited .

I was 38 when I had my dd last year. I waited for many reasons.

1. I was exhausted, bloaty and had a "high needs child" (ie she fed every 2 hours around the clock until she was 5 months old)
2. I didn't want to use OTC birth control before I saw the doc and I hate condoms
3. While caring for your little angel, it truly is hard to "feel" like sex. I did "help my hubby out" though to keep him happy.

Congrats and good luck!

I breast fed for the 1st 12 weeks and didnt feel right having sex so my poor hubby had to wait!!! this is baby number 5 and i know ill not let him come near me for a long time
i think it all depends on how you feel after each birth me personally feel like ive given birth to a toddler ( nope all my babies were under 8lbs ) and sex is the last thing i want

I waited...but my husband deployed at the time. It was actually still painful (4 months after) when he finally came home. I would wait the six weeks. There are other intimate things you can do other then sex. Best of luck and congratulations!

I had tore during my labor and had about four small stitches.

I only waited like 4 weeks, and I was still a little sore, just was careful. But, I wasn't cut or anything, no stitches or tears, so if you are then I would wait the whole 6 weeks.

Sometimes you have to wait. I bleed for a long time and I was to tired to have sex. When a baby is waking up every 2 hours to eat you are going to want to sleep.

I'm pregnant with my first, but I'm planning to wait all 6 wks and here's why.

1) You are going to be VERY SORE and probably not want sex.

2) If you have sex, you risk infection since your cervix hasn't closed yet.

3) You can still have oral sex!

Please talk to your Dr., it's VERY important that you follow their advice!
