it is really a matter of getting your brain/consciousness "retrained" through involving yourself with practices that permit the highest energies/frequencies to interact with your being/consciousness as much as possible. sound strange? not really. the more time you spend meditating and doing other energy work like chi kung, reiki, etc. the higher your personal vibration is going to be. the more control you gain over your mind, the less negative thoughts you will have. every thought you allow play in your brain carries a frequency. thus, the more positive thoughts the better, obviously. this is not a joke. everything in the universe has a frequency, including thought. how to train your mind so that you can monitor it and cut down on negative thought? the same practices. interestingly, the higher your vibe, the more positive your thoughts. the more positive your thoughts, the higher your vibe. i would also suggest proper nutrition and regular exercise in the regimen. in addition appropriate herbs, etc. one end result is : you will ALWAYS be in the PRESENT moment. we all have plenty of problems--dealing with them with a calm, present mind insures that correct action will be taken. in an anxious state, obsessing about past failures and/or future "horrors", decisionmaking often becomes flawed both in process and result. read *the complete idiot's guide to toltec wisdom* for plenty of help along these lines. and check out http://www.sahajayoga.com for energies that will help the process. all this will take some discipline, of course. but compared to leading the usual fearful, and drama and confusion filled life, it's a miniscule price to pay. best of luck!

First of all, present is not always so pleasant to enjoy. In moments of frustration, it is future hope that keeps us going in the present. Similarly, in moments of indecision, it is past truths that guide us. Above all, the present would be pointless without the context of the past and the future.
So, we need to see the past as a guide and the future as the hope to tackle the present.

In a lighter mood, I would suggest just be totally busy surrounded by various friends, colleagues, relatives etc. all the time - you'll not have any time to worry about either the past or the future. To be able to enjoy the present is another matter altogether.

The past present and future are all temporary constructions of a greater reality which cannot be fully understood in such a narrow context. This realization is the bases for the Buddhist idea of simply considering the matter at hand!

It is simply a matter of CHOICE.
Choose to let go of all else. Do not fight off whatever arises in your head. Simply sit and breath and be.
If this is not what you do, then somewhere in your mind you are choosing not to. It is a choice!

There are two ways to do it:
1) be selfish and self absorbed
2) be kind, courteous, and considerate.
Take each moment and enjoy it. Don't procrastinate. Strive to be happy.
