No, it's untrue because I play both of those games too on XP!! Great minds think alike!!!
You might find that your computer isn't fast enough to upgrade from W98 to XP....in fact I know from experience (with my last computer) . I used to have W98SE and reformatted using XP and although I could use the computer, it was miles too slow and not suitable. If you're happy with W98, then keep to it until you next decide to buy a replacement computer....a case of "if it ain't broke".

I love Windows XP. It runs much smoother than the past Operating Systems made by Microsoft. As far as upgrading it would be a major ordeal trying to upgrade your computer to Windows XP. That being said if I was you I would wait until Windows Vista comes out (sometime January of '07) that way you can buy a brand new computer with Vista on it and you won't have to worry about all the hassle. Don't worry about Bookworm & Text Twist being incompatible. Windows Vista will be able to run a lot of Windows XP programs.

For the first question: no, not everyone likes Windows XP. This is particularly true for people with older computers. XP uses more resources just to run itself - so the programs you run (on an old computer) may run more slowly. Whether your Bookwork and Texttwist will run under XP is dependant on the individual program. These are available in a web-based form and you will most likely find a version that will work under XP. I have yet to find any programs that I had with Windows 95 that I was not able to get going under XP. However, now (many years later) I am not using any of those old programs.

Yes, windows XP's realiability and full multimedia compatibilty makes everyone to like it.Specilly those who update there opreating system to XP from win98.I'm such an example.
The pretty "Book worm deluxe" ? yes, I like too much this game. Its work great with XP, such as it worked with 98.I did'nt ever play "Texttwist" but I belive it would work with XP also. Windows XP has a compatibility wizard that help you run old software on new opreating system , if you face a problem it may help you a lot.

I love XP I think it was one of the best operating systems. I have used alot of them from 3.1 to XP and alot of Linux/Unix distros as well. Not to mention Apples OS.
You will hear alot of people say that XP isn't really a good Operating System because its not very secure. It is ture that alot of exploits are found in it but Microsoft releases its updates really fast to fix the problem. Besides Microsoft has droped support for 98. As for the games Xp will let you run in a 98 enviroment.
The OS is runs very smooth actually alot better then 98.
The problem might be your hardware XP is kinda demanding.

I have a total of 5 computers networked in my home. It is very good for ease of use and upgrades. I can't wait for VISTA to come out next year for further upgrade. You may want to wait till then if your PC can accept the upgrade. Sorry I don't play those games, but I can't see why not.
