The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* How to Really Start Your Own Business, Fourth Edition by David E. Gumpert

I like answer number 2... its closest to the truth in my book.

I don't believe there is a right way to start a company because straight off the bat, your only advantage is that you are doing something no-one else is doing, so why look to whats been done before at any step of the way?

If I was you, I'd worry about getting your customers to trust you. As long as someone is paying you, you will stay in the game. Then you can start figuring out what you need to do to be 'correct'.

Make sure you have a thorough business plan first...then decide whether or not it is realistic and evaluate whether or not you cave the capital to start it up...if not...research on business loans, and depending on what type of business, you will want to consult a business attorney to make sure you have everything you need to make your business run smoothly and legally. there are a lot of sites online that can give you tips on starting a business. also, check with your local community college. they sometimes have seminars or lectures on topics like this. good luck!
