A three-yr old girl tumbled down the stairs, and was screaming from the pain in her back. Her father, in a panic because he had no money for medical care, screamed at her to shut up or else! Over 50 years later, she has gotten over the psychological trauma of her father's reaction. The physical part still bothers her.
So what was the question again?

No no no no no! Why are politicans deaf to Canadian voices on this matter! Why would the winner of Canada's Greatest Canadian be TOMMY DOUGLAS, if we thought that our health care system needed to be privatized!
Out of their own interests I think! Greed, Power, Wealth is their agenda if they choose privatization of our health care over universal Health care for all!!
It's all Paul Martins doing when he was the Minister of Finance under Chrietien!!! He weakened the funding for all provinces to pay & cover the costs of Healthcare instead of proping it up more each year by increasing the funding & what we got & are dealing with now is a weakened healthcare system ripe for the distruction by those who wish to profit off of the Canadian public & change it to their private corporation!
Our current gov. & other parties are all for profiting from the public esp. if they get a piece of the pie.
Shame on all of them for not listening to the Canadian people who want their Healthcare System to be Universal as it already is!!!!! Shame on them for not focusing on strengthening our current system to make it as good as it once was!!!!!

I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that a LOT of Canadians come to Northern Idaho for medical and dental care, which says something about their national health care system.

For all Americans that will read this. Canada is a prime example of why a national health care system doesn't work. Democrats learn from this please. Privatization leads to competition which leads to a fair market price.

I think emergency medicine should be equal across the board and stay in public hands. But MRI's and non emergency situations I wish we could choose where to go or spend our money.

And more private, creates more services and probably better effiency. Since compitition does give better service or you lose business.
