I had braces on about 6 years ago and my teeth are still as perfect as they were when I got them off. They are DEFINITELY worth it. When I got them off I wore my retainer as much as my orthodontist told me too because it would just be pointless to have spent all that money to just have your teeth move back. I then bleached my teeth, and now I am SO happy with the smile I have. I am still getting compliments on my perfect smile. Definitely worth it, but you need to be smart about it and take it seriously.

I had braces my sophmore and junior year of high school, and I didn't have too hard of a time with them. My mother was nice enough to cough up the extra money to put clear brackets on my top teeth since I was on the dance team. (thanks mom!)
I think the biggest cause for people's teeth moving back is not wearing their retainer. I have been braces-free for eight years, and I make sure I sleep with my retainer at least twice a week, and my teeth are still in place. Depending on how much adjusting the ortho. has to do, you may want to wear it more, but just sleep with it in- and that should be enough to prevent most migration.
I am really grateful that I had them- for what's it worth

I have! YES IT IS WORTH IT. your teeth will only move back if you don't take care of them. If your ortho will, ask him to install an permanent retainer. It's a thin wire attached to the back of the front teeth that keep them in place. It's not noticible really and it really helps in the long run.
You will be much more confident with pretty straight teeth. After the braces, spend a few bucks for an in office whitening and you'll love yourself for it!

After you get braces, the ortho puts a wire along the back of your teeth to hold them in place. I had braces on my bottom teeth when I was 9 and am now 21; I have not removed the wire and my teeth as beautiful as the day the ortho took of the braces.

I have braces right now. And it isn't to much pain to go threw. I think it is SO worth it! My Mom has jaw problems which hurt way more than if she had gotten braces.
My Bro got his braces off a few months ago and they have not shifted at all. It depends on your orthodontist as well. If you have a good one then your teeth shouldn't shift after you get your braces off.
So yes braces are totally worth it, and there isn't really that much pain.

They're sometimes a pain in the butt to deal with since you get food and stuff stuck in them. But, when i got them off i loooovvveeddd my teeth! Although i got them back on after that and still have them on, im happy that im going to have pretty teeth. The pain isnt that bad, it hurts the worst for about 3 days (or for me it did) right after you get them on but other wise they're not too painful, when you get them off they have to take theglue of your teeth and its not exactly enjoyable... or try and ask you dentist about a retainer or 'invisiline'. Over all i believe they're worth the money.

Holly what your peers consider is not going to topic if you wish to have braces and do not get them it might rationale a few terrible agony to the overlapping enamel as you grow older. Your roots begin bumping in combination and boy do I consider that agony!!!!!! Don't overlook your enamel. Here's my recommend: Do now not do the transparent!! Why? The transparent is obvious and almost invisible however they're very cumbersome and can also be noticeable baring in your lips whilst you mouth is near. I have the steady steel braces with silver bands, they mixture with the steel and so they slightly bulge! Good success!

If you have a choice, try invisalign. You don't see the braces.
I had braces for 2 years, and hated every minute of it. Yes, I have pretty, straight teeth now and that lasts longer than the misery you will go through. But they always cut up the inside of my mouth, and they were harder to clean & floss.

Three years of tracks, head gear, elastic bands and retainers and my teeth look fab. However the gap between my teeth did come back the day after I had everything removed! Not nearly as big though.

Yes I have twice. If you have too many teeth you need to have some removed and as soon as you can have your wisdom teeth removed. Then they don't move.Yes it's worth it.
