Nitrogen is a gas just like Oxygen which we inhale. At room temperature, Nitrogen is very unreactive. However, at really high temperature, it is very reactive; it can be used to make ammonia, nitric acid, powerful explosions, and many amine compounds (proteins).
Nitrogen is a nonmetal. It is a very important element.
