Don't lie about your age.
Neighborhood odd jobs are a good way to make extra money such as raking leaves, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow (as a lot of people have already stated).
If you're looking for something different though you could try digging out some of your older toys, clothes, electronics, or other things you don't use anymore. You could have a yard sale with the items to raise money. Because you probably won't have enough stuff to do that, you could try selling some of the stuff on ebay. I think you must be over 18 to sell on ebay, but if you get your parents permission, they could sign up as a member but you could do all of the work, and therefore get the profits. If you become a really successful salesperson on ebay, you may consider selling larger items for other people, and taking a 20-25% commission.
Hope these ideas help. Good luck getting the laptop!

Shovel snow, rake leaves, wash cars, sell lemonade (kidding!!)- i used to shovel snow and rake leaves for the neighbors and a pretty good chunk of change ($20 per driveway usually and $20 per yard depending on how big it was to rake)- you can probably get a bit more now- you just need the motivation to go and knock on their doors. Also, you might want to ask your parents if you can help them around the house more than just your regular chores to earn extra money.

First off you need working papers. in NYS its 14 to get them. After that go up and down the street putting in application after application. The more apps you put in, the better your chances of getting a job. I believe you can get your working papers from your school, or at least I did. Just remember this more applications + persistance=Job=laptop!

federal states that without a permit from your school they are legally not allowed to hire you - child labor laws. i also do not believe you can get a workers permit until you are 15. 16 is when you can start working. start a little service mowing lawns, shoveling snow... yard work stuff. do a little research to find out how much most kids in your area are getting paid to do it so you don't ask too much or too little. other than doing neighborhood chores i believe you're boned.

Find odd work to do for your neighbors... rake lawns, mow, collect cans.
It's illegal to hire anybody younger than 16 (or is it 15 in NY?), and even then you need a note from your parents & school to allow it.

You might try doing odd jobs for the neighbors. Because of my physical limitations I'm always looking for help for lots of chores. I'm sure there has to be lots of people who would appreciate your help and be willing to pay you for it. It doesn't hurt to ask.
