First, we put 1.2 billion dollars into the pocket of whichever of Bush's buddies is selected to build it.

Second, we get a lot more illegal immigrants dying in the desert as they try to cross the border.

Third, Congress gets credit for at least LOOKING like they're trying to deal with the problem of illegal immigration. But it's just a look, since the wall won't slow illegal immigration one bit.

On the one hand, there was this modern art piece from a few years back that springs to mind from Art In America ( No, I'm not into modern art ) titled :
" Good Fences Make Good Neighbors " and another piece titled " I Know How To Act Like Nothing's Going On " - at the same time I find it ironic that the Berlin Wall came down, Checkpoint Charlie became a thing of the past, now we're seriously considering a wall as a man made boundary like the Great Wall. Surreal.

Firstly, allow me to say that building the wall in itself is not good enough. What America requires is the enforcement of its laws as a recognized sovereign nation in the world community. The acting of illegally entering into another nations borders should not be rewarded but punished. The wall simply serves as a token to the conservatives in this nation who have been demanding tougher actions against illegal immigration. Also, I believe that those who have entered into the US illegally deserve no rights under the US Constitution. They should be allowed the rights given under the UN, but nothing more than that.

Violent criminals, gang members and paramilitary groups can no longer enter the US with impunity. Neither can the hundred or so terrorists we catch coming over every year. BTW, 90-95% of illegals fall into this category....violent criminals. Only about 1% are employed.

Figure it out.

make understand the millions of illegals that go to sleep every night and dream about the AMERICAN DREAM, that it actually doesn´t exists. with this, we gain keeping them off this -out of-values country where our god is the money and morals an obstacle to obtain it.
With this wall maybe we open their innocent and ignorant minds and make them see reality.
