I had a smear test and they found polyps.. it is nothing,,, all your mum needs to do is what she been told.. and i am sure that is to go to the day case unit and have them removed ..it does not hurt and afterwards all you have is a little bleeding where the polyps have been removed..only takes about 1/2 hr..so don't worry

A polyp is a small overgrowth of the normal tissue. It tends to hang away fom the site where it is attached. Imagine a grape which has a thick stem holding it to the plant...its similar to that but much smaller.
They are not necessarily cancererous but there is a small possibilty. Tests would have been taken when they found the polyps.

Lot of people have polyps..... have them removed and it takes a long time for them to grow back....ignore them and they can turn into cancer....
