Do you mean where to plant?

In full sunlight, but the mixture of the soil is needed by adding peat (from any store), and add those tree stakes to the underground root area.

The tree stakes need to have fertilizer and pesticide in them because grubs usually love new trees and grass.

When you dig the hole, put a large black plastic bag down and put the dirt on the plastic bag. That way when you are done putting the tree base in the hole, you just pull the plastic bag into the areas to cover the base. It's amagzine if you put the dirt right on the grass, somehow about 1/3 of it gets mixed into the grass.
Also make sure you dig a big enough & the hole it needs to be at least 1 1/2 x bigger than the tree root ball.

Fall is a great time for planting! Happy Planting...you are planting a tree for a lifetime .....we all benefit...so thanks!

Generally the more sunlight the better the color of the Japanese Maple. But because of their papery leaves, they are prone to drying out. This may leave the tips of the leaves browned or crispy.

If you plant in full sun, make sure to use 2-3" of wood mulch over the root zone to help hold moisture. Also be sure to supply supplemental water once the season begins to warm up. Try to avoid getting water on the foliage, as beads of water may act like magnifying lenses, and burn spots into the leaves.

Generally, if you want a low maintenance planting, I'd say plant in part shade (morning sun). The color won't be as good, but the care much easier.

Fertilize the tree regularly, as per the directions on the label of the package.

I hope that this helps
Good luck-

Depending on where you live, recommendations are to plant in full sun in the northern hemisphere. However there is a risk of scorch to the new leaf tips. I would recommend partial/ dappled shade.

If you live in a warmer zone, say 8 or 9, or a very dry area, give it partial shade. In cooler climates it will tolerate full sun.
