For example, if your fiance wants kids & you don't, would you tell him/her that you did want them (or remain ambiguous) b/c you want to marry him/her? This happened to a friend of mine. Would you do it? Or have you? Or do you know someone who has?

Never. Marriage is hard enough as it is and if the foundation were built on a lie (and especially a lie that significant) it is doomed from the beginning. I choose not to have children and if I have a relationship that even begins to get serious I will state that from the get-go.

No. I wouldn't lie about anything just to get married. Without open trust & communication, then it would be pretty much a sham right from jump street.

Not at all. I do however know a couple where one spouse changed their mind... that did not go well. That is a big source of trouble.
