Pros:
1. High Powered Machine
2. 1st Party Games(meaning only certain games will come out exclusively for the PS3 like MGS 4 and Resistance)
3. Supports 1080p
4. "Free" online gaming(I believe there is some kind of a catch to the free online gaming)
Cons:
1. Super expensive system
2. Possibly super expensive games
3. Experimental technology
4. Rumors of quickly overheating
5. Has lost many 1st party games
6. No rumble in the controllers
7. Rumors of games and content take up lots of space on hard drive(the 60 gig hard drive is more like a 30 gig)
8. Rumors of controller not working properly
9. Many game developers and publishers are saying that they do NOT like working with the staff at Sony games and will not work with them in the future.
10. Microsoft has hired on Super Director Peter Jackson to produce 1st party games for the Xbox 360.
11. No Halo
12. No Gears of War
13. No Mario
14. Splinter Cell 5: Conviction
15. Zelda
16. Fable
17. Mass Effect

Well there are more cons to having the ps3 that arent mentioned while it is true the xbox 360 has problems with the system they replace it for free and usually give you something extra like a new controller months of xbox live time or both The ps3s other cons are its outrageous cost still even with the holiday rush and the blue ray player doesnt only have slower loading times but it has also been known not to work at all.

i think the main con will be the price. 600 is unbelieveable. but people will go all out and $1oo for a video game? i think not. maybe they'll be the same price as xbox 360 games. some where around 60. i know madden o7 for 360 was more than 60 but never 100.
will i be getting a ps3 u ask? probably.

Pro- powerful system, good graphics, free online
Con-expensive, may be free for online but free is not always good! look at the PS2 free online, it lagged like crazy, Blue-ray(it could be popular or be another beta-max), may have overheating problems, heard controller is uncomfortable, no rumble and only has a few good games but not as much as the 360.
(games are $60 each)

cons: first time sony has a built in online gaming as an intrigal part of the system, some of their best games are on all platforms now, no rumble
games will cost between $50-$60.
