I was just thinking about how much wrestlers in the WWE haveta work,I mean 5-6 days a week come on now and that leaves little time for friends and family.Seems like Vince is being the modern day slave owner!
I mean part of me feels like it comes with the enviroment, like if you don't like getting shot at don't become a cop or join the military,in other words you gotta take the good with the bad!But the other half of me feels like,it wouldn't kill Vince to let the wrestlers take a week or two off during the holidays! I seriously wouldn't mind waiting to see a new episode of Raw or Smackdown for a week or two if it meant they had time to relax.
Even though they get paid for the job, what are your views on it,could you do it?

No prob Bautista, but that's very sad and dangerous that Vince would do that, like I said Vince is acting WAY more like a slave owner then an employer!

Yes, in a way it it slavery. Vince McMahon runs a very tight ship. He is also very money hungry and will do anything, no matter who he stomps on, to make more money. You take the case of Bret Hart. Bret lost his wife to wrestling, yet, he gave his whole life to wrestling. He missed I think 2 shows during his career and how did Vince thank him? He refused to pay the Hitman what he deserved and then embarassed him in front of his countrymen and then murdered Owen. And why? He did it because he was trying to make money off of those less talented, but money making clowns like that degenerate Stone Cold, the gay Shawn Michaels.
The whole things makes me sick. I think one or two shows a week would make money and allow those guys to see their families.

They sign a contract and do what their told!!! Simple!!
The more they work... the more money for the company... simple!!
WWE wrestlers do exactly that. They are on the road constantly, travelling from show to show. They pack their bags, go to the next destination, stay at their hotel, wrestle a match, then they pack their bags....
practically there not "travelling and sight seeing" at all... just a repetitive, depressing system. The only thing they see on their travels is a diffetent hotel and wrestling arena. Of course, some time is spent signing autographs, etc.
I think you see a pattern there?
I think wrestlers on average get 3 days off if their lucky (not 100% on that). You imagine the difficulties and struggle when you have a family. To not be able to see your son or daughter growing up and all the rest.
The WWE do toooo many shows a week in my opinion and that cuts many wrestlers career short by atleast 10 years on average, or maybe worse.
The more shows = more work = more money for WWE.
The more shows = less days off = screwing a wrestlers body and mind.
I think you have an idea that mromoters are VERY selfish and greedy!! Its all about MONEY!!! Why do you think REAL Pro wrestling turned into a pre-determined show? Because the promoters soon realised that more money can be made!! Period!!
In my opinion, Wrestling shows should be cut down, so wresters can heal and prepare themselves to put on better, conditioned matches. Thats my opinion. However, the lesse wrestling events, the less money!!
Dont get me wrong as wrestlers love their jobs... but explain why they are always on pain killers and other things? Also explain the wrestlers that have died of constant pains in the body? I'll say no more there.
At the end of the day, I use to be in the Pro Wrestling business. The promoters dont care about your health. They just want you to turn up and put on a show... seriously. It is all about their business and money, and I bet deep down, Vince McMahon is like this also.
I am glad Kurt went to TNA!! Period!! For those that understand will agree!!

I agree that they sign a contract to work they way they do but look at the stastics of a professional wrestlers life.. davey boy smith (RIP),Kurt Angle,Eddie Guerrero (RIP),Big boss man (RIP) etc. You get the point.
Alot of these wrestlers shorten their lives by working so many hours and days & being tossed around the ring so much.. You figure they are either wrestling, signing autographs, doing interviews don't leave to much time for extra cirricular activities or family life.
Kurt Angle is still alive. He just stated in one of his interviews Vince made him work through his pain instead of going to rehab for his neck injury..This is just to show how Mr. McMahon does not really care about the wrestlers health just the money they bring in. Sorry about the confusion...

It's a trying profession. They are obviously doing what they love, and wouldn't be there is they didn't exhibit some kind of determination. There are the odd guys such as Angle who work themselves to the bone, but that is based on an individual, and does not reflect the entire company "running them into the ground". Diff'rent strokes, diff'rent folks.

I know where you are coming from... I don't consider to the extreme that you do, but it is messed up... however Vince is one of those people that believe time is money, so if he missed a shoot or something he is missing out on money..... You can't help it when you have that mentally with you, ever since you can remember....

around the holidays ,he rotates the ones that have family and want to go home.and since smackdown is taped on tuesday,if they are not on the roster for an in house show---they can fly home on the weekends.but that's not an option for the main money makers.

I have no idea what your talking about,
Wrestlers wrestle because they love the sport, the fans, the money, and the intirgue.
McMahon is not a slave owner, he is a business owner.
