Unless he is allergic to the formula, gas tends to be a feeding problem rather than a powder problem. Make sure you're using bottles designed to minimize the amount of air swallowed.

It might, that was what our pediatrician first recommended we try when our daughter was having problems with painful gas. It didn't work for us however, after trying multiple different formulas our Dr finally told us she needed Similac Alimentum...it is a hypoallergenic lactose-free formula. That, combined with the Dr. Browns bottles has made a world of difference in our little girl. You really wouldn't know it was the same child!! Good luck to you and I hope your son gets some relief soon!

Soy formula is very high in an estrogen-like chemical and should only be used if absolutely necessary, esp. in regards to baby boys. My son had gas problems too so I switched to the Playtex Avance bottle and started giving him Ovol (an anti-gas medication for babies). The combo seemed to help the problem and he will outgrow this.

if he is getting really fussy with the gas, like my little boy was, then he might have a sensitivity to the milk. a slight lactose intolerance that he will most likely grow out of. i started him on the same thing you did, the lipil. you should try a soy formula like prosobee. dont just change his brand. enfamil is the best formula on the market.

WOW had this same problem with my daughter (now 14 months). I had to switch to Isamil Soy based. Totally worked and the screeming stopped too. It was harsh.

One word...MYLICON. These drops help relieve infants of gas and are completely safe to use on an infant of any age as often as you need. It's worth the investment. You can find Mylicon in any pharmacy.

BABIES GET A PEAK GAS PRODUCTION BETWEEN 4 AND 12 WEEKS OLD, THIS MAY BE WAT IS OCCURING BECAUSE I USE THE SAME POWERED FORMULA FOR MY SON AND HE HASNT GOTTEN THIS GAS PROBLEM YET. AND HE'LL BE 2 MONTHS NOV 12TH
ANOTHER THING WHILE I THE HOSPITAL I WOULD BURP MY SON FOR EVERY 2 OZS HE WOULD DRINK UNTIL HE FINISHED, BUT THE NURSE TOLD ME IT SHOULD BE DONE EVERY OZ. SO MAYBE YOU CAN TRY THAT
