This guitar is now out of production after about 30 years. The four knobs control the two humbucker pickups and each one has a volume and tone control. There are two toggle switches that are used to switch on the pickups so that you have either the bass one on alone, the treble one alone or both together. The other switch will control volume or the humbucking effect.

Volume, bass, midrange, treble, shape,...and maybe one or two more...but check out Peavey's website...they helped me out a lot with my 1974 Session 400.
