If I download some files onto my work PC Will my company be able to know exactly how many KB was dloaded. Also can they know what was downloaded.

Yes, they probably can tell. Most companies have the ability to monitor their employees' internet use.

If your company has a firewall they can.

The firewall at our company monitors EVERYTHING. Daily reports are made on Internet usage. One of the items on the report is MB downloaded. Also which sites were visited by each PC.

On a corporate network, remember that the company owns all of the computers and any data they contain. They have the right to monitor network usage.

If there is something you wish to keep private, do it on your home computer using your home Internet connection.

Yes and No. It depends.

If your company uses a proxy server, then it monitors the usage of every user who logs into the domain.

So, it knows where you go, how long you are there, and download information, i.e what you downloaded, and how large.

If they dont, then clear your history, and you should be kosher.
