The satisfaction that you get is one from being responsible! It is a pleasure knowing that you have the funds to pay bills and when you do this you are freeing yourself of sinking deeper into financial debt. Having a clear line on credit cards and regular bills does give you a sense of freedom and the fact knowing you are skilled at budgeting. However imagine not having a job and not being able to pay the bills, this could possibly drive you over the edge. Ensure you have a slush fund and that you don't over extend your finances. Chances are that you will always want to oversee the finances.
Too often people spend more than they have today to enjoy today and never realize that tomorrows money is already gone. What a life that would be!

I thought it was only me. I do. It gives a feeling of closure. Actually if I were to pay late I would think I was holding another persons money, not my own.
I have spent 20 years working as a hobby on a budgetting development of a database program. Any time I can instantly see what I spent since the same day the previous month going back as far as I want on all my bank and cash accounts. I rent out houses which gives me the excuse to monitor my profit and loss account both current and projected to the year end, balance sheet, current and projected tax liability.
The program emulates bank clearance times and tells me instantly that any incomming payment is due to show on my on line accounts, when it was due and when it should clear.
It instantly warns me about debtors and creditors.
It warns about any account overdrawing past a specified limit and the prompt cross references first incomming payments to see if one will arrive in time and then other bank accounts to check which has funds to clear the overdrawing.
I ran an exporting company for 16 years without ever once paying a bill late except for rare occasions when something on the bill was in dispute.

Yes I do too!! It's not the feeling of responsibility or anything for me. It's just so that I can sleep peacefully at night, knowing all my bills are all paid and I have nothing to worry about for the next thirty days. That's why I couldn't figure out how some people manage to lead a peaceful life with a stack of unpaid bills. I'd get rashes!

It's not that you look forward to sending the money itself. There is something fulfilling about sending in a bill. It is a sense of responsibility. If you have had debt in the past, it is even more fulfilling to write a check for the full balance of a credit card.
If you have that "gene" then I think you'll always enjoy the aspect of organization, responsibility, reconsiling the budget, etc.

Good for you! Your responsibilities will grow, and so will your expenses. That is why starting a budget is really important to start early in life.
Most people rely on their online banking or credit card statements to keep up to date on their finances.
This is like sticking your head in the sand.
As long as you stay aware of your finances, you'll look forward to paying your bills.
A bit of advice: living exactly within your means (spending 100% of what you make) puts you ahead of a lot of the population. Deliberately living *below* your means is the key to long term financial freedom.
That second part is a lot harder to master -- but you'll be ahead of the game if you stick with it!

No you will not always like doing this. Actually one day you will want to make the dollars, and perhaps spend your dollars on YOU, YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS. Not Bills!?
If you want the opportunity to live a Lifestyle that you are dreaming of look at this!

I think you are great. And while you are so happy forking over the dollars, I would greatly appreciate your address so I can send you an invoice.

I am the same way. I love to write checks.. It a feeling of accomplishment...I didn't need anyone else to help me or carry me.
I love working even if its not for much on time but as long as I am moving...I know I honestly earned my money and I am living my life on my own.
I can not stand to be dependent on a man.
MORE POWER TO YOU MY FRIEND...KEEP GOING!!!
