I can't help myself.

3.0 Ghz minus 1.9 Ghz = 1.1 Ghz

So the answer is 1.1 Ghz.

On a working computer, I am assuming you mean a PC for Business/ Educational purposes or other than for Media or Games. --- Well first, if you're looking to upgrade, upgrading the RAM (both in amount and memory speed) would be more beneficial than upgrading your CPU. A faster CPU could mean less hangups and crashes since your CPU will be able to handle a more rigorous work load without heating up as much. Remember, heat is a computers worst enemy. --- Second is that a faster CPU will greatly reduce the amount of time it takes for a program to load, as well as, your computer will be able to handle more applications without hangups and stuttering. --- Third point is that many modern CPU's support internal features that keep your data more secure and prevent unauthorized changes to key system files. Good luck.

One hertz simply means "one cycle per second" A Ghtz means 1 million cycles per second. So your computer can run at 3 million cycles per second or 1.9 million cycles. Think of it as horse power if your into cars.

It would depend on the exact processors you are talking about but with that kind of difference I suppect you would see a difference. The problem is things like Centrino processors are ratted at a different scaell than a standard P4, or Core 2 processor.

a LOT, if they're the same series processor.

however, a 1.9ghz core 2 duo would slaughter my 3.0 pentium D.
