I don't think so. If someone steals my wallet, I'm going to feel a sense of loss. Now, it DOES matter what they are stealing. If they are taking your organs, like that one creepy movie, then I would say it is not your imagination. Or some jerk going around stealing everyones virginity? I would say theft exists as long as there is something to steal, and someone to steal it.

No it is a part of a person's sin nature. Imagination would require creative was to get what you want without stealing from others.

It could be... if ownership is only a part of our imagination. Can I really own something - or just lay claims on it while I'm living?
If I don't truly own it - can it be stolen?

Only if you have imaginary goods.
If I work and use the fruits of my labor to secure possession of something, it is mine. I own it. I will loan it, and retrieve it if not returned in a reasonable time.
Now, if someone TAKES what I have gained through my labor, without my permission, that is THEFT.
After we die, it becomes the property of our heirs. They reap the benefits of what we have gained in life.
Does it still sound imaginary?
Philosomophize!! I LOVE IT!!

To some degree.
I like your question!
If we can't take anything with us when we die, how can anything be truly ours?
