I don't think they would fly cause there isn't any food in the air BUT they would enough enjoy the cold breezes from flying so they would have less need to wallow in the mud. (I think that is the first time I typed out the word,"wallow.") Then there's the issue of having wings with the strength to support the pig in flight. The downside of course is the pig pooping in flight. Very scary proposition. All in all, I am glad God did not give wings to pigs. In fact, if there were a petition to start a flying pig hybrid clone, I would be firmly against such a bill.

nicely you wanted an answer !! no one, no longer even the main ravening of adaptationists, could seek for to describe the absence of winged pigs via claiming that, regardless of the shown fact that there was once some, the wings proved to be a felony accountability so nature chosen against them. no one expects to locate fossils of a species of winged pig that has now long gone extinct. quite, pigs lack wings because of the fact there’s no place on pigs to place them. to characteristic wings to a pig, you’d additionally could desire to tinker with a lot of different issues. in certainty, you’d could desire to rebuild the pig finished hog: much less weight, perfect musculature, an perfect metabolism, an equipment for navigating in 3 dimensions, a streamlined silhouette and god in simple terms is accustomed to what else; to no longer point out feathers. the ethical is that in case you desire them to have wings, you will could desire to remodel pigs a great deal. yet organic determination, because of the fact it extremely is incremental and cumulative, can’t do this style of factor. Evolution via organic determination is inherently a conservative technique, and as quickly as you’re nicely alongside the evolutionary direction to being a pig, your added ideas are substantially limited; you are able to’t, to illustrate, bypass lower back and retrofit feathers.

Nope. At least not the tiny ones you see on those ceiling toy pigs...in order to be able to hold the body weight of the pig they'd have to have huge, very muscular and powerful wings.

no, probably not, not everything with wings can fly, take chicken for example, they can't fly high distance although they have wings and they have two legs only. but you didn't tell us, why do you want pigs to fly?

If bumble bees can fly with their weight ratio to wing span, I do not see any reason why fat little porkers couldn't do the same. I shall buy a larger umbrella.

If a Boeing 747 can get off the ground, I guess a pig could too.

The wings would have to be pretty big to lift those porkers of the ground.
