How can I keep Messenger from popping up? It slows down my work and is very irritating.?

Start/Programs/Accessories/Administrative Tools/Computer Management.
When the window comes up click on:
Services and Applications
Services.
Scroll down to Messenger. Right click. Click Properties.
Change the Startup Type to Manual. Click apply, click OK.
Close all windows, reboot the computer.

Go into the Preferences and uncheck the setting that automatically loads Messenger on Start up.
