Actually, since liquid nitrogen is free nitrogen gas, frozen into a liquid, it is more correctly called molecular nitrogen, N2, rather than elemental nitrogen, N. Hope that helps!

Liquid nitrogen is an element.

There is no difference in the chemical composition when going from liquid to gas or gas to liquid. A phase change is a physical change, not chemical.

isnt nitrogen an element? it is . so is liquid nitrogen
its another fact that it is usually found as a gas,
but when subjected to huge pressure n low temperature
it changes itself to liquid state
this is 'liquid nitrogen'

it is an element as a compound is formed by the chemical reaction of 2 or more elements,while liquid N2 is formed by reducing the temperature of N2

both gaseous and liquid nitrogen is also diatomic structure. the answer saying gaseous N is monatomic isn't true. So element of course.

element. check your periodic chart changing states doesnt effect elements. You can do lots of fun stuff with that but be careful.

nitrogen(N) is an element.
but liquid nitrogen(N2) is compund.
