I believe violent television programs numb us to certain feelings and reasoning. Children are particularly effected because if they saw it on TV, it must be okay.

of direction it does. every time you spot somebody smack somebody else around it the two desensitizes you and on an unconscious point (regrettably) it turns into much less unacceptable every time you spot it. Why does the army use pc conflict video games to coach their troops? because of the fact it fairly works. comparable stuff applies with television and violence and our childrens. Ever ask your self why our infants have become extra violent at youthful a while? try monitoring what they watch on television. Plant a seed in a youthful fertile ideas and watch it strengthen - be it a weed or a flower.

Yes, because before TV, rock/rap music and video games there was no violence. (sarcasm) i hate when people use forms of entertainment to cop out on being bad parents or bad people. and i don't believe they desensitize people either. i mean I've seen dead people in games, movies, and TV. but I'm sure if i saw them in real life id freak out.

and as far as being sexist and calling men immature, maybe you just havent met a real man yet.

Only if it is followed up by ignorant parents not explaining the concept of entertainment (reality vs pretend). TV is for amusement purposes only and if it is explained properly there will be no problem.
