over the house. Then, with that said, Pelosi would probably be the Speaker of the House. Does it scare anyone else that if something were to happen to the President and Vice President, then Pelosi would be our new President? How scary would that be? I am being very serious, how scary would that be?

I think anytime someone who has not actually been elected to the office they are in, it is somewhat scary. Especially when it is the President. It is a good thing so far in this country that has only happened a few times, and never has the VP then died. And Pelosi would be a very scary President that many people would not take seriously.

There has never been a case where anyone below Vice President has become president. I would be more concerned about Cheney becoming president than I would Pelosi.

So Dennis Hastert would be any better? He defended a pedophile, I don't want to know who else he'd let off, let alone pardon. Former Klansmen? Convicted Conservative pedophiles? And anyway, when was the last time anything happened to the President and Vice President simultaneously? Has it ever happened?

As a liberal I am not please with the idea of Pelosi being speaker o the House. However, I am no more bothered with the concept of her being in the line of succession than I am with Dennis Hastert. The one that scares me the most is VP Cheney. the fact is that this nation has never had to put the Speaker in the White House. It should take more than that as a scare tactic to frighten people into voting for more of the same as we have now.

Scares the bejeebers out of me. This person is a whack job and I am surprised she is still in office. Of course, I'm surprised ANYONE in Congress still has their job, Dem OR Rep.

for some who do not know, gerald ford was never elected president. he became 38th when nixon and agnew resigned. he also served/appointed as the 40th vice president. the both the first and only times in history. he became vice president accroding to the 25th amendment...the first time it was ever used!

What scares you people so much about us liberals? Unless you are big business executives, about to lose the cushy ride you have been enjoying for the last six years, or military generals who are going to lose the status you have enjoyed since we've been in Iraq.

Liberals want equality for the common folk - which, face it - most of US are.

More scary than Hastert? What if he became president? Pages passed out for homosexual sex to all Republican Congressmen?

We'd have to shoot him down from the Empire State Building to get rid of him.
