Well I don't know if you know of many older "classic rock" bands...but there's a bunch. And they're like the basis of all these new bands. AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, U2, Quiet Riot etc.
Asside from that I love Panic and the Disco...very odd sound...but I like it...And there's also Flyleaf...kind of a mix between Rock and Screamo...only you can actually understand what she's saying when she's screaming....it's really an amazing band...check'em out.
