it's possible, or you might just be carrying a large baby . . . my ultrasound came back with similar results, stating that because of measurements, I would be due 2 or 3 weeks earlier that what was said at first . . . really, when they calculate your due date, it's only an "estimate" . . your baby could come sooner or later . . they usually stick with the initial dates, but nothing is set in stone . . the baby will come when he/she is ready!! . . . best wishes!!!

More likely than being a month off is that your baby is growing quickly. Any time someone sets up a "normal" size or weight for a baby, there are going to be babies with higher and lower weights and sizes. High birthweights are not uncommon even for smaller mothers. Several of my aunts had 10 lb babies at birth. Ask your doctor anyway, or even ask the recpetionist who has probably heard every question in the book.

ultrasounds are very accurate at determining the date but no so accurate at determining the weight of the baby. It can be off as much as a pound. If the doc. has you at 25 weeks then that is probably what you are. Its hard to determine the weight of the baby while its still inside, the best they can do is give a guesstimate.

My wife was the same way but she found out later she was borderline gestational (spelling?) diabetes which makes the baby grow at a faster pace and have a higher birth weight. Usually the doctors are only off by a week or so. I hope this helps and congrats!!

The further along you get in your pregnancy, the less accurate ultrasounds are in determining due date/how far along you are. Gestational diabetes can cause a baby to grow very big, do not skip that test!

Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the ultrasound weight is off as that is more common.
